HYDERABAD: In a span of just three days, SHE Teams have arrested 55 people, including some government employees, for harassing women at Ganesh pandals, majority of them at the Khairatabad Ganesh pandal. Cops said that the offenders were nabbed based on video evidence collected by the SHE Teams deployed at places with heavy footfall and the pandals.SHE Teams sleuths operate in mufti and move around crowded and secluded areas where there is a possibility of harassment of women."Based on evidence, cases are being registered against the accused under relevant sections of law. The SHE Teams deployed for the festival caught the offenders red-handed while they were indulging in obscene acts like touching women inappropriately, stalking them, passing lewd comments and making inappropriate gestures," SHE Teams stated in a release on Thursday.Among the arrested culprits were auto drivers, private employees and even government employees, who were harassing the women. While most of them were caught near Khairatabad Ganesh pandal, other pandals in the city too reported stray incidents.Meanwhile, police also arrested a cell phone thief, Shyam Bihari Mahto, 28, from Jharkhand, at the Khairatabad Ganesh pandal and recovered four cell phones from him.
