Maiden orientation programme for district level officers rolled out

The MCH HRD Institute of Telangana rolled out its first-of-its-kind ‘Reorientation and Capacity Building programme’ for district officers to enable them implement the government schemes and programmes and achieve envisaged results. Mr.Ravi, Consultant, Unicef, said the proposed District Knowledge and Information Centres would sterengthen district administration in improving quality of planning. Mr.B.P.Acharya called upon the District Officers to do the necessary home work to find out the felt need of people, formulate the right set of intervention strategies and ensure that their benefits would reach the needy people. The reorientation programme would generate a sense of motivation and commitment among the officers in achieving the desired benefits under the schemes, he said. The Samagra Kutumba Survey, a virtual goldmine of information, could be used by the officers both for improving quality of planning and implementation government schemes effectively.

The programme was organised for 150 district head of departments and officers from Warangal (Urban), Warangal (Rural) and Jayashankar Bhupalapally districts at Hanamakonda and was inaugurated by Mr.Ramachandru Tejavath, Special Representative of Telangana in New Delhi and Mr.B.P.Acharya, Special Chief Secretary, Planning Department and Director General MCH HRD Insitute. Mr.B.P.Acharya called upon the District Officers to do the necessary home work to find out the felt need of people, formulate the right set of intervention strategies and ensure that their benefits would reach the needy people. Mr.Ramachandru Tejavath said Telangana State emerged as a role model for introducing innovative schemes aimed at both development and welfare in the country. The reorientation programme would generate a sense of motivation and commitment among the officers in achieving the desired benefits under the schemes, he said. Dr.Gautam Pingle, Dean of Studies adn Head, Centre for Telangana Studies, MCR HRD Institute, said that the reorganisation of 10 districts of the State into 31 districts would go a long way in bringing the governance physically closer to the people and make the new districts into viable units. Warangal (Rural) Collector Patil Prashant Jeevan, Warangal (Urban) Collector K.Amarapalai and Bhupalapally Collector A.Murali said mere availability of physical and financial resources was not enough but diagnosing problems of people and finding enduring solutions creatively was the need of the hour to meet expectations from the Government. Dr.G.S.Reddy, Additional Director General, TRAC, said that availability of comprehensive data about the existing assets would be of great help in planning new assets and monitoring developmental activities in the State. Mr.Ravi, Consultant, Unicef, said the proposed District Knowledge and Information Centres would sterengthen district administration in improving quality of planning.
