Congress playing a constructive role; Govt. failed to ensure proper price for farmers—Jana Reddy

The red chilli farmers were facing problems as they were not getting minimum support price to their produce. “We requested the state government to take up discussion on red chilli farmers’ issue. The state government arrested the red chilli farmers along with Congress MLA Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy when they staged agitation protesting against the low price being offered in the markets. MALLU’S CHALLENGE TO GOVTTPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has thrown a challenge to the state government to come to Khammam Market Yard to know who were farmers and who were rowdies. The people have to understand the developments and the peoples’ organizations have to oppose these developments taking place in the state.

Hyderabad: Stating that it was playing a constructive role, the Congress has alleged that the ruling party passed the Telangana Land Acquisition Bill within 10 minutes thinking that passing the bill only was important for the government. Speaking at the Assembly media point along with party MLAs after the adjournment of the House on Sunday, CLP leader K Jana Reddy said that there was no minimum support price to the produce of farmers. The red chilli farmers were facing problems as they were not getting minimum support price to their produce. The state government arrested the red chilli farmers along with Congress MLA Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy when they staged agitation protesting against the low price being offered in the markets. “We requested the state government to take up discussion on red chilli farmers’ issue. The government behaved undemocratically. The people have to understand the developments and the peoples’ organizations have to oppose these developments taking place in the state. The state government has got the bill passed within five minutes”, he said. MALLU’S CHALLENGE TO GOVT TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has thrown a challenge to the state government to come to Khammam Market Yard to know who were farmers and who were rowdies. “The state government resorted to arrests when we stand by the farmers’ side”, he said and alleged that the government imposed 144 section in the market yards and saying that more than four persons should not gather.. “No Khammam farmer would be afraid of KCR. They are real farmers and they will not be scared of cases”, he stated and made it clear that he was a public representative and he has the minimum responsibility to meet the farmers when they were in troubles and hence he went to Khammam Market Yard.
