The Hindu Young World Summer Smart Camp, a platform to equip children with interesting skills in exciting ways, will be held in Hyderabad from May 22-26. The course fee is ?2,499 for Chennai and ?1,999 for Bengaluru and Hyderabad which includes a robotics kit and six months subscription to The Hindu Young World and one month subscription to Young World Club. The robotics session will provide hands-on training on basic robotic components and take a deep plunge into the world of autonomous robots. In the quiz session, the participants will experience the thrill of competing and learn approaches to pick up trivia from the world around them. For children aged between 8-13 years, the five-day programme will provide the opportunity to learn, think, share and stay resourceful during the summer break. Sayeedabad, Somajiguda, Vijay Nagar Colony are the three locations where the camp will be held here. Hyderabad is one of the three cities where the camp is being organised. In Chennai, it will be held from May 16-20, while the camp in Bengaluru will be from May 22-26. The programme, packed with newly-curated modules, has content tailored for children in two age groups: basic level (age 8 to 10 years) and advanced level (11 to 13 years). Exciting sessions Each day will offer an opportunity to explore a different course and the content varies for each city – robotics, English, quiz, mathematics, art, and personality development. The robotics session will provide hands-on training on basic robotic components and take a deep plunge into the world of autonomous robots. Participants will take home their own robotics kit. The Know Your English sessions will offer a chance to experience English and probe its funny quirks – oxymorons, spoonerisms, analogies and more, interspersed with fun games. In the quiz session, the participants will experience the thrill of competing and learn approaches to pick up trivia from the world around them. At the art session, they will be encouraged to tap their creativity, with younger students making a literal self-portrait and an observational artwork while using a variety of mediums. Older students will work on an introspective self-portrait followed by a product design project. The mathematics session by Cuemath is designed to engage the participants in an highly absorbing Fun with Math activities, from manipulative puzzles, challenges and brainteasers to stimulate visual perception and kindle the logical and creative reasoning skills. In the Stars of Tomorrow (personality development) session, the children will have an opportunity to act on their own, be self-reliant, develop leadership traits and make new friends in a supportive and non-competitive environment.
