Hyderabad Metro Rail pillars to be given unique numbering with GPS link

Hyderabad: In order to make Hyderabad a tourist friendly city the Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities have decided to give unique numbering for Metro Rail pillars and link them with Google maps and GPS (global position system). It was revealed by HMR MD, NVS Reddy at a brain storming session conducted at Metro Rail Bhavan on Sunday. Sadly Urdu which is the second official language and is spoken by a large number of Hyderabadis has been ignored. Presently the three corridors have 2,748 pillars. Corridor I (Miyapur-LB Nagar) will be designated as A, corridor II (JBS-Falaknuma) will be designated as B and corridor III (Nagole-Raidurg) will be designated as C. Future expansion of the Metro corridors will have D, E, F and so on.

It was also announced that global standard sign posts with sufficiently big font in both English and Telugu will be placed at several locations and approach areas of a Metro station. Sadly Urdu which is the second official language and is spoken by a large number of Hyderabadis has been ignored.
