HC seeks records of Miyapur land scam

The judge stayed the process and called for records. A division bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice G. Shyam Prasad on Tuesday asked the Telangana Government to produce records pertaining to investigation into Miyapur land scam. The bench wanted the Government to come clean on the issue and called for records. College-wise vacancies are to be notified and then only initiate the process for filling the posts. She said that the officers had not notified the number of vacancies in general medicine department but are filling the posts by transfer.

The bench was dealing with PIL filed by Raghunandan Rao, BJP leader and advocate. He alleged that the main accused is not arrested till now. He demonstrated how the Government acted in half-hearted manner after press reported the scam. The bench wanted the Government to come clean on the issue and called for records. The case will be called on Wednesday. Medical education Justice Ramalingeswar Rao of Hyderabad High court on Tuesday stayed the process of filling the posts of Assistant Professors undertaken by the Director of Medical Education in Telangana. The judge was dealing with a case filed by Sumitra Rani, presently working as Assistant Professor, General Medicine, at Mahabubnagar Government Medical College. She said that the officers had not notified the number of vacancies in general medicine department but are filling the posts by transfer. College-wise vacancies are to be notified and then only initiate the process for filling the posts. The petitioner said that whole process was opaque and being manipulated. The judge stayed the process and called for records.
