IMPHAL: A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested Congress legislator, Yamthong Haokip , and sent him to judicial custody for 15 days in connection with the case of missing arms in Manipur.One of the missing arms, from among the 56 pistols of the 9mm variety and 58 magazines that had gone missing from the armoury of the 2nd BN Manipur Rifles, was earlier recovered from Yamthong's residence during a raid conducted by the NIA.During searches conducted at Yamthong's residence in Mantripukhri on July 31 and August 1, the NIA recovered three defective rifles - one of which was from among the pistols that had gone missing from the armoury of Army - as well as a large number of gold biscuits and some cash.Yamthong, who won from the Kuki-dominated Saikul constituency in the newly set up Kangpokpi district , has been suffering from a heart-related ailment.
