Curfew lifted from Imphal districts mobile internet services resume

Imphal: With the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill set to lapse on June 3 after the Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die on Wednesday, the indefinite curfew across Imphal East and West districts was lifted on Wednesday. Mobile internet services were also resumed across Manipur . This is a victory for the “non-violent” and “democratic movement” of the people of northeast, particularly Manipur, Biren told a local television channel. MANPAC convenor Yumnamcha Dilipkumar said the outcome is the success of the concerted movement of the people. He added that the government should pay compensation to people who were injured in the protests.
