With 9,81,630 female voters, Manipur is the fourth northeastern state after Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya where female voters have exceeded male voters for the past several years. “In seven of the eight districts, except Mamit, the number of women voters is higher than male voters,” the official pointed out. According to the final electoral rolls in Christian-dominated Mizoram, there were 1,054 female voters for every 1,000 male voters. With 15,429 new voters, the final electoral rolls recorded an increase of 1.97 per cent voters over last year's rolls, which had 7,83,899 voters. In the 2019 electoral rolls in Tripura, there were 972 female voters for every 1,000 male voters; and in the 2018 voters' list, there were 965 women voters for every 1,000 men.
