BJP candidate of Manipur Ginsuanhau, been elected from Singhat (ST) Assembly Constituency uncontested, was sworn in as MLA at the office chamber of the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

BJP candidate of Manipur Ginsuanhau, been elected from Singhat (ST) Assembly Constituency uncontested, was sworn in as MLA at the office chamber of the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Yumnam Khemchand Singh administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-elected member of Manipur Legislative Assembly at around 2 pm on Wednesday.

Awangbow Newmai Manipur forest minister , education minister S Rajen Singh, urban development minister Okram Henry, Chingai MLA Khashim Vashum and other BJP leaders were present during the swearing-in ceremony which was held as per existing Covid19 protocols.   

The other Congress MLAs were O Lukhoi (Wangoi), Md Abdul Nasir (Lilong), O Henry (Wangkhei), P Brojen (Wangjing-Tentha) and Ngamthang Haokip (Sauti-ST).

As a result, bypolls to four Assembly constituencies – Wangoi, Lilong, Wangjing-Tentha and Saitu in the state were necessitated scheduled for November 7.
