Elderly couple hit by car in Barwani, die

BARWANI: An elderly couple was killed when they were hit by a car on Agra–Mumbai national highway in Barwani district on Wednesday.The couple had started for 'Narmada Darshan' and was crossing the road at Than Fata, some10 km from Julwaniya, when the accident took place. They were residents of Kataliya Khedi under Oon police station limits of Khargone district. People travelling in the car were on their way to Indore from Pune to attend funeral of Bhaiyyu Maharaj, Julwaniya police station in charge Santosh Sisodia told TOI.Passing motorists were on the scene immediately. Police have seized the car. But, 65-year-old Mal Singh and his 60-year-old wife Haru Bai died on the spot.
