INDORE: Ujjain police on Sunday arrested two persons who were trying to sell passes for Bhasmarti illegally to devotees at Mahakal temple.The incident came to fore after one of the accused offered tickets at Rs 800 per person to SDM Anil Banwariya who was on duty at the temple. He was detained for questioning.During investigation, the SDM found that eight people were going into the temple on a pass for four people, which raised suspicion. They were questioned. They told police that they had bought the passes from shop number 3. Based on this, shop operator Mayank Agarwal was questioned and he revealed that a racket was being operated by them. He had been dealing with five people and trying to sell free passes for the Bhasmarti.The SDM told TOI that while roaming around the temple he met a man who offered to him tickets for Rs 1000 per person. After a while he was ready to give him the tickets even for Rs 800 per person. “Action was initiated against the accused,” said SDM Banwariya.In a joint operation of administration and police, five people were detained and of them two were arrested.“Arun Mali and Mayank Agarwal were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the IPC. They were produced before court and sent to jail,” Mahakal police station in charge Rakesh Modi said.
