I am also a businessman and have turnover of Rs700 crore,” the minister told TOI.“The notice, which is dated 02-08-2018, has been received by me and against the due amount, I have submitted Rs5 crore. The notice came as a shock to me. I was not well for last four days but was available. I am already in talks with bank’s senior officials in Mumbai to seek time of 45-60 days to return the balance amount,” Patwa said.“Why would I submit Rs5 crore, if I am not willing to repay the loan,” he said, adding he would first ‘solve’ the issue with the bank and then come before media in next few days. INDORE: Madhya Pradesh minister of state (MOS) for tourism and culture, Surendra Patwa on Tuesday alleged a conspiracy behind Bank of Baroda’s ( BOB ) local branch issuing a show-cause notice to him and four members of his family for not repaying a loan. The loan was secured by Patwa and others for their two companies in the capacity of borrowers/directors/guarantors.In a public notice, BOB’s Regional Stressed Asset Recovery branch of Nipaniya had given 15 days to Patwa and others from issue date of letter (August 2, 2018) to show cause as to why they should not be declared wilful defaulters as per RBI guidelines on various grounds including not making payment despite having sufficient net worth for meeting the repayment obligations. The bank claimed that M/S Patwa Automotive Pvt Ltd, Surendra Patwa, Monika Patwa, Bharat Patwa, Mahendra Patwa, Phool Kunwar Bai Patwa and M/S Star City Construction Pvt Ltd, were sent the letters, but the same were returned undelivered.“It’s a conspiracy by the lower level officials (in the bank) as they put out a public notice despite my making a representation before bank officials in Mumbai.
