INDORE: From the high end Range Rovers, Mercedes, BMW and Audi cars to erickshaws, politicians contesting elections from Indore have a varied choice of wheels. The most impressive collection of vehicles is with the crorepati contestant from Indore- I constituency Sanjay Shukla.Shukla has annexed a list of 57 vehicles in his nomination form, of which eight are high end ones such as Jeep, Range Rovers, Mercedes, BMW and Audi and others are trailers, cranes, trucks and dumpers on his name.The accumulated value of all his vehicles is Rs. 3.41 crore. Another crorepati candidate from Indore-III Akash Vijayvargiya does not have a single vehicle of his own.Lalit Porwal - Vijayvargiya’s rival from Indore-III, Madhu Verma - BJP candidate from Rau and Antar Singh Darbar, Congress candidate from Mhow also have listed that they do not possess any vehicle.Apart from this, in Indore-I, an independent candidate has e-rickshaw. Mohan Singh Sengar, Congress contestant from Indore-II has three cars in his name including an Audi Q3. His rival Ramesh Mendola has a relatively modest car - Brezza.Surprisingly Indore-III, which has the highest traffic issues, is the area where more than half of the candidates have listed that they do not have any vehicle.Eight out of the 14 candidates who have filed nomination forms from this area have claimed that they do not have any vehicles.Most of the candidates have shown a liking for SUVs including Jitu Patwari who has a Pajero sport, Mahendra Hardia who owns an Innova, Surjeet Singh Chaddha has both Fortuner and a Scorpio while Preeti Agnihotri has a Creta in her name.Satyanarayan Patel who was known for owning a helicopter has listed only a tractor in his name in the nomination form.The Congress candidate from Indore V constituency claims that he sold off his helicopter to a company of which he was a director and a shareholder.
