INDORE: A 25-year-old married woman was stabbed to death in front of her friend by her spurned lover, who barged into her house in Scheme Number 78 and on Wednesday night.The accused, Nikhil reached house of the woman, Kajal and asked her why she was not receiving her call. Before Kajal could react, the accused pushed her to the floor and tried to strangulate her. When he couldn’t do that, he used kitchen knife and stabbed her brutally several times, said police.Kajal’s friend, Pooja, was shocked by the incident and could not save her friend. She tried to raise the alarm but till then the accused had fled the spot. She then informed neighbours and rushed her to hospital where she was declared brought dead by the doctors.Pooja told police that Kajal was married to Shubham Shakya two years ago and they did not have any children. Her husband, who works at a readymade complex, had gone to Banswara in Rajasthan to attend a marriage function when the incident took place.Pooja said that on Tuesday night, Kajal had been receiving calls from Nikhil continuously. He knew that her husband was not in town.Police learnt that Kajal was neighbour of Nikhil in Dev Nagar some time ago when they came in contact with each other. On Tuesday night, the accused was trying to meet her and when she did not receive his call, he got angry.CSP Pankaj Dixit said that a case was registered and they were very close to arrest the accused based on his mobile location.Police sent the body for postmortem examination.
