Mayor alleges delay in release of funds for development projects

Indore: Mayor Malini Gaud on Saturday alleged delay in release of funds for development work by state government.“The corporation is dealing with shortage of funds for implementation of various development projects proposed under Smart City initiative. The complex has been proposed to be developed on premises of Marathi Middle School, Bhau Shinde Sports Ground and Indore Arts School. The project has been taken under Smart City initiative and a sum of Rs 20.75 crore would be spent on it.The complex will be built on a 14,132 sq ft land. A six storey building has been proposed with two auditoriums which will accommodate 300 visitors each. We have not received any fund after formation of Congress led government in state,” said Gaud.She was speaking to media persons at foundation stone laying ceremony of a multi-purpose art complex in MG Road area of city.

We have not received any fund after formation of Congress led government in state,” said Gaud.She was speaking to media persons at foundation stone laying ceremony of a multi-purpose art complex in MG Road area of city. “We are getting funds from the Centre, but no fund has so far been released by state after Congress formed the government,” she alleged.The mayor said, “We will approach the government with an appeal to release funds in order to ensure timely completion of development projects.”Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Gaud jointly laid the foundation stone for the complex building. The complex has been proposed to be developed on premises of Marathi Middle School, Bhau Shinde Sports Ground and Indore Arts School. The project has been taken under Smart City initiative and a sum of Rs 20.75 crore would be spent on it.The complex will be built on a 14,132 sq ft land. A six storey building has been proposed with two auditoriums which will accommodate 300 visitors each. It will have facility of audio-virtual rooms, green rooms, two emporiums, two multi-purpose halls, library and underground parking.Four practice hold area with 3000 sq ft space each, 21 rooms, a canteen and 16 dormitories-eight for boys and eight for girls-will also be developed in the complex.
