Heat wave revives in Raj, Phalodi, Bikaner hottest

Jaipur: After a spell of dust storms and thunderstorms, heat wave conditions revived in the desert state on Thursday. The roads wore a deserted look in the afternoon while mild dust storm was also witnessed in the outskirts of the city. Many places witnessed its maximum temperatures above the normal notch. Mild cloud cover was seen in the city, however that actually increased the humidity levels in the city.

Jaipur: After a spell of dust storms and thunderstorms, heat wave conditions revived in the desert state on Thursday. Many places witnessed its maximum temperatures above the normal notch. Phalodi (Jodhpur) and Bikaner remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius each was recorded, the Met reports said.Attributing the climatic change to the revival of northerly winds and also to the vanishing of upper air cyclonic circulation the Jaipur met office said that except a few places the weather is mainly going to dry in the state.Jaipurities woke up to a comparatively pleasant morning as a minimum temperature of 26.4 degree Celsius was recorded in the state. It was followed by a sultry yet dusty afternoon as a maximum temperature of 41.6 degree Celsius was recorded. Mild cloud cover was seen in the city, however that actually increased the humidity levels in the city. The roads wore a deserted look in the afternoon while mild dust storm was also witnessed in the outskirts of the city. Due to the ongoing heat wave conditions the footfall at Central Park has also been affected.Phalodi(Jodhpur) and Bikaner were followed by Jaisalmer where a maximum temperature of 44.0 degree Celsius was recorded, Barmer and Kota 43.6 each, Sriganganagar 42.7, Churu 42.5, Jodhpur 42.2, Ajmer 42 , Udaipur 41.4 and a maximum temperature of 39.7 degree Celsius was recorded.Last week on the intervening nights of May 2 and 3 heavy dust storm and thunderstorm had taken the toll of at least 36 lives and left as many as 200 injured especially in the eastern parts of the state. There is a going to be an increase of almost 3 degree Celsius on an average in the state especially in the maximum temperatures.In its forecast Jaipur Met office said that no further dust storm or thunderstorm would be witnessed in the state as weather is going to be dry in the state in the next 24 hours.
