Rain wreaks havoc 3 killed in state

At least 6 gram panchayats of Sriganganagar district were inundated. Jaipur: Moderate to heavy rainfall lashed many parts in the state on Sunday which affected the normal life badly in the districts including Sriganganagar, Churu and Dausa. There were also reports of damages in the Kachcha houses at many villages in Sriganganagar where power and telephone cables were also broken.

A 10-year-old boy and his 10-year-old sister were swept away in a rain-fed river in Neem Ka Thana while a youth in Kota drowned in a pond while swimming amidst heavy rainfall on Sunday.Many villages were disconnected due to severe waterlogging. There were also reports of damages in the Kachcha houses at many villages in Sriganganagar where power and telephone cables were also broken. Jaipur Met office has further forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.Heavy rainfall at Raisinghnagar area in Sriganganagar district of the state badly affected many houses as roofs of many houses were collapsed. Since this took place in the morning during daylight no major loss of life was reported. At least 6 gram panchayats of Sriganganagar district were inundated. At Mandawa near Jhunjhunu a family travelling in car got stuck under heavy water logging near a railway under bridge. Seeing the family in a car being stuck some auto rickshaw drivers and others went for their help and bailed them out safely. At Jaitsar village in Sriganganagar sand washed away under the railway tracks which affected the operation of the trains. A farmer after spotting it alerted the railway authorities.Jaipurites woke up to a pleasant morning as a minimum temperature of 25.4 degree Celsius was recorded in the city. It was followed by a drizzling afternoon as a rainfall of nearly 20 mm was received. The afternoon was also pleasant as a maximum temperature of 29.4 degree Celsius was recorded.In the eastern Rajasthan Sawai Madhopur got a rainfall of 170 mm which was highest in the state. Almost every district in eastern Rajasthan got heavy to very heavy rainfall. Many places have received a rainfall varying from 160 mm to 10 mm.
