Jodhpur: Jodhpur is gearing up for the next phase of the CM’s ambitious ‘Gaurav Yatra’, which will begin from Ramdeora, with paying obeisance to the folk deity ‘Baba Ramdeo’, on August 24. Passing through different districts of the Jodhpur division, it will culminate in Jodhpur on September 2, with a public meeting. In order to make the yatra a big success in Jodhpur and draw a huge crowd in the public meeting of the chief minister Vasundhara Raje, party ministers and cadre have been putting in all the efforts. With lukewarm response to Raje’s previous events in Jodhpur, specially a roadshow through the walled city, party is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a large crowd for the Jodhpur meeting, the venue of which was decided on Monday in the presence of the medical and health minister Kali Charan Saraf, in a joint meeting of city and district units. It is being ensured that each and every party leader, MLAs, MPs and workers appear in the meetings in the prelude to the yatra in Jodhpur, and get into action as per the directions issued in these meetings.“We have set a target of a gathering of 3000 during the welcome of the chief minister in Jodhpur, and that of 40-50 thousand, in the public meeting,” said president of the city unit of the party, Devendra Joshi. Most of the party leaders have been considering it a huge challenge to make the events in Jodhpur a success, with the apparent resentment among the people, and have been admitting the fact that the road is not that smooth. “Not only the success of the events in Jodhpur, but bringing the party back to power, would be a huge challenge this time,” said another party leader from the city unit. The biggest challenge before the party, is to shatter its anti-development image in the hometown of the former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, as well as bringing Congress under psychological pressure, by the success of the public meeting. The party, faced with allegations of apathy towards Jodhpur, is going all out to appease the people by all means.A series of developmental works have not only been announced in Jodhpur, but orders have been issued to commence these works. In order to ensure smooth execution and timely completion of these works, the engineers of the JDA have been prohibited from taking any leave for the next two months.JDA Commissioner, Durgesh Bissa, in a meeting held on Monday, has given clear directions to expedite the works which have been ordered, and to open the tenders of the works, the administrative and financial sanction of which, has been granted.Box:BJP to hold Gaurav SabhaJaipur: After the completion of ‘Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra’, the state BJP will organise “Gaurav Sabha” at all divisional headquarters as well as assembly constituencies that have been left of the yatra.
