The bodies were handed over to the family members.Three friends, identified as Ajay Suman (17), Nanu Goud (17), residents of Balakund, Dadabari area of Kota city and Shubham Sharma (17), a resident of Nayagaun, drowned into a mining pond full of rainwater on Thursday evening, said the S.I. at Anantpura police station. The three had gone for recreation near the deep mining pond and were most likely to have drowned while taking a bath in the pond, as their clothes were found near the pond, with their motorbike parked nearby, he added.Two of the bodies were recovered late on Thursday evening, while the third body was found floating at a distance on Friday morning, he said, adding that the three bodies were handed over to the family members after postmortem on Friday. The three deceased minors were friends and studied in the same school, he said.The matter is currently lodged under section 174 of CrPC and further investigation into the matter is underway, the S.I. added.The bodies were fished out from the depth of around 22 feet, by 8 pm on Thursday, but the third body could not be traced as the oxygen cylinders were exhausted and there was no facility to refill them, said Vishnu Shringi, in charge of the rescue team of Kota Municipal Corporation (KMC).
