Alwar: At least eight armed assailants associated with illegal mining barged into Kolari police station of Dholpur and decamped with a truck of Bajari (gravel) seized by the police earlier. Assailants also opened fire on the police station and managed to flee along with the truck.According to police, they have seized a truck with illegally mined Bajari on Monday evening. Around 1.00am on Tuesday at least eight armed assailants barged into the police station amidst stone pelting. “Since some of the policemen were sleeping they were shocked with the sudden attack on the police station,” said a senior officer.Sources added that some of the policemen were pleading for their lives in front of the assailants who had also opened fire. “It was an attack at the police station. We have registered a case and have initiated investigation into the matter,” the officer added.The assailants, probably those whose trucks were seized, initiated intermittent firing on the police station and gave no time to the police to at least initiate a counter attack.
