RSRTC strike enters 4th day unions now announce it indefinite

Jaipur: The strike by the RSRTC employees entered into the fourth day on Thursday when majority of the buses remained off roads. We have no fresh demands as we are just requesting the government to implement all what they had promised while we had ended a 3-day strike in July.”The demands of RSRTC employees’ union included- purchasing of new buses, filling up vacancies, implementing the Seventh Pay Commission and benefits for retired employees, among other demands. Various union leaders said that they were yet to get any communication to the government and seeing this kind of response they have decided to make it an indefinite strike.Heavy commotion continued at the Sindhi Camp bus stand and other nearby areas where people were seen looking for the private bus services. The worst-affected were the passengers from various districts including Dholpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and other districts where people are majorly dependent on RSRTC bus service.RSRTC carries nearly 10 lakh passengers per day and due to the ongoing strike, there has already been a big revenue loss for the RSRTC.ML Yadav a union leader of RSRTC employees’ union said, “There has not been any kind of positive response from the state government on our demands.
