JAIPUR: A 22-year-old married woman committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at Jagdamba Nagar locality under Karni Vihar police station area on Saturday. The maternal family of the woman has lodged a case of dowry harassment and abetment of suicide against the husband and in-laws of the woman.According to the police, the family of the woman identified as Aishwarai after noticing that the woman did not get up, knocked the door. While there was no response from the room the family intimated about it to the police. “The woman was seen hanging from the ceiling fan. Her body was brought down and was taken to the hospital for the post mortem,” said a police officer.The maternal family of the woman have accused her husband and other family members of harassing the woman for a long time and have accused the family of dowry harassment and urged police to investigate abatement of suicide angle. “We are investigating various angles into the case. The husband and other family members would be interrogated,” the officer added.
