JAIPUR: Hitting out at senior Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad for accusing BJP of politicizing Ram Mandir issue, BJP election in-charge Prakash Javadekar said that Ram temple is not a poll plank for the BJP.“The temple debate has been on for the past 500 years, even before the concept of polls was introduced. The remark make by Azad in Jaipur is to rake up the issue,” Javadekar. He asked Congress to clear its stand on the construction of the Ram temple. He recalled how Congress leaders are making attempts to politicize temple issue. “Congress leader Shashi Tharoor’s remark that good Hindus would never want a temple on a place where a disputed site was demolished is an attempt to divide Hindus,” said Javadekar. He also said, “On a given day, Azad becomes a leader of one community while on the other day he tries to become a Shiv bhakt.”

Why BJP is not bringing an ordinance on the construction of Ram temple, Javadekar said that the Supreme Court has all the evidences like carbon dating of the remains found on the site, historical document and other evidences indicate the disputed site is the birth place of Lord Ram.“It is clear that temple was demolished to erect that disputed site,” said Javadekar, while he didn't say anything on the ordinance. He came handy with figures on employment, tourism, cleanliness to counter the projection made by Congress leaders of Rajasthan as Bimaru state.“Rajasthan has progressed manifold in the last five years of Raje rule. Congress is misleading people by using the term 'Bimaru' for Rajasthan. I would like to ask them why they had stopped the recruitment process of 26,000 teachers. It is an attempt to derail our progress,” said Javadekar. He also said, “On a given day, Azad becomes a leader of one community while on the other day he tries to become a Shiv bhakt.”
