Government generated 262 lakh jobs against 44 lakh jobs claim Congress

Quoting government and advocacy group reports, the party has claimed that Rajasthan government is tweaking and misleading people by making a false claim of creating 44 lakh jobs in the last five years. JAIPUR: Congress has attempted to set the agenda of unemployment for the upcoming polls in Rajasthan. Quoting government and advocacy group reports, the party has claimed that Rajasthan government is tweaking and misleading people by making a false claim of creating 44 lakh jobs in the last five years. Randeep Surjewala, Congress central spokesperson presented department-wise figures to claim that that Raje government generated just 2.62 lakh jobs in her tenure. He challenged Raje to provide details of 44 lakh jobs sector by sector generated in her tenure.Quoting Centre for Monitoring of Indian Economy report he said Rajasthan’s current unemployment rate is 13.7% which is almost double than the current national average of 6.71%. The report puts Rajasthan unemployment rate second highest in the country only preceded by Tripura with 32.2% rate. The unemployment rates were prepared using a globally acclaimed method Consumer Pyramids Household Survey Machinery (CMIE).Taking on Raje’s claim of jobs generated out of Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC), he said, “Raje has been making inflated claims that RSLDC gave training to 1.27 lakh youths and jobs to 42,758 from 2014-17. However, the reality check by the CAG report which carried a physical audit says only 9904 jobs were created and actual training was imparted were very low as compared to the claim.The CAG report of 2018 stated that Raje government had not fixed any targets for RSLDC from 2014-17. “It also points out that 14.19% training by RSLDC were in key sectors. It shows that government failed to give identify key sectors to generate jobs. had no vision while implementing this program,” said Surjewala. Congress is making efforts to make the unemployment as a core issue in the polls. They have been questioning BJP leaders on social media to public address to reveal the job figures.
