JAIPUR: National People’s Party (NPP) state president and Amber MLA Navin Pilania on Tuesday joined the BSP and will file his nomination from the same seat on BSP ticket on November15. BSP national president Mayawati is proposed to address a meeting in favour of Pilania on November 26 in Jaipur, according to party sources.Navin Pilania, is the son of former BJP MP and IPS officer Ghyan Prakash Pilania. He was first elected to the assembly in 2008 as a BJP nominee. When he was denied ticket by the party in the 2013 elections, he joined the NPP led by Dr Kirorilal Meena and retained the seat. However, when Meena returned to the BJP along with two other NPP MLAs in March this year, Pilania preferred to remain with the NPP.Pilania sailed through in the last election in 2013 by a narrow margin of 329 votes over his nearest rival and BJP candidate Satish Poonia. The BJP has fielded Satish Poonia again from this seat. The Congress is yet to declare its candidate till the filing of this report.
