The Naagin 3 actress Anita Hassanandani enjoys portraying a serpent in her current show. She feels that television, with its wider audience, helps her connect with fans. The actress, who was in Jaipur for an event recently, talked about her show and visits to Rajasthan. She was in town for the launch of fast food outlet Eggsplore.After trying many genres, including saas-bahu saga, romantic shows and even comedy, this is the first time that Anita has tried her hand at a supernatural show. She says, “It was a smart move to opt for this role. It is something I have never tried, and the role has shades of grey with layers to it. People like to see over-the-top characters who add drama to the show.” She has a huge fan following, especially among women. “Right from the very beginning, Naagin 3 has created a buzz. I loved how after just a few episodes, women started coming up to me, saying, ‘We loved the pink chiffon sari you wore in that episode, and we copied the look and the hairstyle as well’. I somehow feel that my job is done.”The actress, who has essayed iconic characters in shows like Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, Kkavyanjali, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, has also done few films down south. For the actress, the medium does not matter. She says, “Its been 18 years since I started working in the industry. At this juncture, it does not matter whether I work in cinema or television. Waise bhi, I have tried both the mediums and television feels like home, and I am pretty comfortable here.”The actress has never shot in Rajasthan for any of her projects but has visited the place for several events. “Everyone who has visited Rajasthan loves the culture, ambience and the many tourist spots. I love Rajasthan ka khana the most, especially dal baati choorma.
