Tribute to Sridevi dance competition and more on the last day of IIS Universitys cultural fest

The 11th annual cultural fest of IIS University, Jaipur – ‘COSMOS’ 2019 – ended on a high note with a group dance competition, face and hand painting, singing competition and an open mic event. Mudra, a group dance competition stole the limelight. This competition witnessed a variety of dance forms from Bollywood fusion on Sajda to classical dance on Albela Sajan Aayo Re.Dance performance paying tribute to Sridevi One of the dance performancesOne of the dance groups showcased a child who is surviving in disgruntled family. The motive behind this fest was to encourage students to explore all facets of their creative expressions and skills. In another set of performance, girls raised their voice against women related issues such as child abuse, molestation, harassment etc.

Dr Sakshi Singh, head, cultural department, Kanodia College and Shivani Sharma, fashion and travel Blogger were the judges. The performance depicted what a child goes through when their parents get separated. In another set of performance, girls raised their voice against women related issues such as child abuse, molestation, harassment etc. One of the groups paid tribute to Sridevi by performing on her iconic songs such as Hawa Hawai, Wo Lamhe, etc.Dance performance raising voice against women harassmentOne of the groups performing classical danceThe first position was bagged by Kriti Kanwar and Group while Niharika Joshi and Group came second for their classical performance. Amisha Kumawat and Group stood at third position. Also, the poster of TEDx IIS University was launched on the last day. Tentative speakers of the event are Mallika Dua , comedian, Durjoy Datta, author, Ambika Anand, TV anchor and Dr Benny Prasad , guitarist.Creative hand paintings by the studentsThe fest came alive with lots of colour and life as one witnessed the inter-house face painting competitionOther attractions of the fest were the stalls put up at the back lawns where students had displayed handmade jewellery, clothes and mouthwatering delicacies. These stalls were enjoyed by the students as well as teachers.
