JAIPUR: Five more persons died of swine flu on Monday, taking the total toll to 112 so far this year in the state.The deaths were reported from Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Udaipur and Chittorgarh. In Jaipur, 36 more persons were tested positive for swine flu, while in the state, 79 persons were diagnosed with swine flu on Monday. Total number of persons found infected to the disease rose to 3020 so far in 2019.Amid the outbreak of swine flu, 460 pregnant women were found suffering from initial symptoms of the disease in the past six days in the state.“During campaign of screening of people for swine flu conducted from February 2 to February 9, health department’s team conducted screening of more than 54 lakh people for the disease. There were 26,000 teams of health department which conducted the door-to-door screening of persons. The health department teams visited rain baseras, hostels, hotels and houses for searching people with swine flu like symptoms,” said Dr VK Mathur, director (health), health department.According to the health department, there is a need to keep a check on health of pregnant women as they are among the most susceptible groups to swine flu.Officials said that they are keeping a check on the health of pregnant women found as suspected cases of swine flu.Apart from the pregnant women, there were 533 persons who belongs to high risk group. There is high risk of death among pregnant women and high risk group people of deaths if infected with swine flu virus. The patients who are suffering from chronic illness of lungs, liver, kidney and heart are categorised as high risk group. The health department immediately provided Oseltamivir (Tamiflu) tablets to 2,674 high risk group and pregnant women found suffering from influenza-like illness
