JMC budget may be passed by govt 2nd time in history

The budget of 2019-20 will be Rs 1,870 crore, slightly higher than 2018-19 when the budget was Rs 1,860 crore. However, if the GBM is not conducted then the budget will be sent to the state government which will approve it. Apart from sewerage, roads, lights, fire and many other departments are allotted separate budget and we hope this will improve the conditions in the city.” In 2018-19 also, the budget could not be passed by the GBM.Just four days are left to call a GBM but since the state assembly budget session is underway, it will be difficult to call a GBM as MLAs and MPs are also members of urban bodies. Jaipur: As city mayor Vishnu Lahta is hospitalised, the 2019-20 budget of Jaipur city is expected to be passed by the state government for the second time in the history instead of the General Body Meeting (GBM) which has not been conducted yet.The city budget has to be passed by the GBM before February 15, 2019, as per the Rajasthan Municipality Act, 2009, after which it will be sent to the state government which can also amend the budget.
