If a student wants to attain marks between 80–85, then they should solve NCERT questions thoroughly. For getting marks between 85–90, solve mock test papers and previous years’ question papers as much as possible. Do all the examples and questions from NCERT and after completing them, refer to Arihant, for board questions and HOTS.” Deepak adds, “Wrap up your course with inverse trigonometry and then a student will be ready to face the Mathematics board exam. Only when you will practise the problems, you will understand the concepts, get clarity on topics and develop a good solving speed.

Vipul Gupta, a student of Ryan International School, Jaipur, who aims to score full marks in Mathematics, said that his preparation for the Mathematics exam , due to be held on March 18, is done and right now, he is just focusing on solving previous years’ question papers.“It’s a simple formula in mathematics. If a student wants to attain marks between 80–85, then they should solve NCERT questions thoroughly. For getting marks between 85–90, solve mock test papers and previous years’ question papers as much as possible. However, if a student wants to score more than 95 marks, then just keep revising the above-mentioned points,” says Vipul with confidence. He said that 80% of the question paper of CBSE Mathematics exam comes from the NCERT and 20% from outside of the NCERT, to check the student’s knowledge. “In exam time, Section D is very lengthy. So, start from there, as even if you won’t get time to solve Section A (one-word questions) you won’t lose many marks, as the section has just one-mark questions.“Do not waste unnecessary time in solving questions if you get stuck anywhere. Just move on to another one. Another important thing to keep in mind is not to leave empty spaces in the paper, as it leaves bad impression on the examiner. Just fill it up with whatever information you have, to get even half marks,” said Vipul.Board exams are around the corner and Mathematics is considered as a tough nut to crack by many. However, Deepak Khulve, Mathematics teacher at Ryan International School, Jaipur, says that the best way to attain good marks in Mathematics is to create your own tricks to recall the formula, as by mugging up, students tend to forget and get confused.“The only way to learn Mathematics is to practise it. Only when you will practise the problems, you will understand the concepts, get clarity on topics and develop a good solving speed. Create your own tricks, say by corelating the formula with an incident, to keep them in mind,” said Deepak.Deepak makes it clear that Math is not a subject that can be prepared at the end and only practising and solving as many questions as possible can help a student. “Approach every question with confidence for solving a problem. It is advised that after reading your paper, put an indication (two dots) for questions which you are very confident of cracking, followed by some indication (one dot) for those which you would solve and they may get solved most likely, lastly, the ones you may want to try, but are not sure of coming up with the answer (no dot). This sequence of solving the paper will give you mental encouragement of attempting the entire paper with confidence,” he says.Always answer the paper from last question to first, so that even if a student misses on the last few questions, he will only lose 1-2 marks per question. In the chapter ‘Relation & Function’, focus on the board questions and one can also refer to the book by author Arihant for it. Deepak adds, “Wrap up your course with inverse trigonometry and then a student will be ready to face the Mathematics board exam. Do all the examples and questions from NCERT and after completing them, refer to Arihant, for board questions and HOTS.”
