First fortnight of March coldest in past 10 years

Jaipur: The first fortnight of March so far has been coldest in 10 years. However, this year so far the average maximum temperature in the first fortnight was nearly 30 degrees Celsius. Earlier in the morning a minimum temperature of 16.9 degrees Celsius was recorded. Though in March, the maximum temperatures are on and above 35 degrees Celsius on an average in the state, however, this year so far the maximum temperatures were below average. Many places across the city also witnessed hail storm that brought excitement among the kids across the city.People in Jaipur also witnessed coldest day of March so far a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, almost 3 degrees below the normal notch was recorded in the city.

Jaipur: The first fortnight of March so far has been coldest in 10 years. Though in March, the maximum temperatures are on and above 35 degrees Celsius on an average in the state, however, this year so far the maximum temperatures were below average. Mild to moderate showers along with the hailstorm continued at many places in the state on Thursday that guided mercury to take a dip.Be it was the state capital Jaipur or it were stations like Churu, Sriganganagar, Hanuamgarh and Bikaner, everywhere the maximum temperatures remained below the normal notch.According to data available with the Jaipur Met office, in 2018, the maximum temperature in Jaipur was 39.4 degrees followed by 41.4 degrees in 2017, 40.2 degrees in 2016, 37.8 degrees in 2015.“If these temperatures are seen they were always above 35 degrees Celsius in the first as well as in the second fortnight. However, this year so far the average maximum temperature in the first fortnight was nearly 30 degrees Celsius. In March so far, the maximum temperatures varying from 30 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius was recorded,” said an officer with the Jaipur Met office on Thursday.On Thursday afternoon cloudy conditions prevailed across the state which converted into rainfall in the evening. Many places across the city also witnessed hail storm that brought excitement among the kids across the city.People in Jaipur also witnessed coldest day of March so far a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, almost 3 degrees below the normal notch was recorded in the city. Earlier in the morning a minimum temperature of 16.9 degrees Celsius was recorded.
