Dismissed IPS officer to contest from Barmer

JAIPUR: Dismissed Indian Police Service IPS ) officer Pankaj Choudhary announced to contest Lok Sabha elections from Barmer constituency.Speaking to TOI, Choudhary said that he will file his nomination on April 8 which also happens to be his birthday. “I am going to contest election from the Barmer seat. He will soon begin his campaign to garner support. “There is no proper development in the area. Educational and career opportunities are scarce whereas crime against women often do not come to the fore,” he said, adding that there are many anti-national activities currently underway in the border towns.Choudhary last week had held a press meet, announcing his foray into the political arena.

I will fight the election on employment, women security and cross-border smuggling,” he added.The 2009-batch officer was earlier this month dismissed from service due to “grave personnel misconduct” on grounds that he had got into a relationship with another woman without legally separating from his wife.A native of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh , Choudhary served as district SP in Jaislmer from January to August 2013 which also comes under the Barmer constituency. “There is no proper development in the area. Educational and career opportunities are scarce whereas crime against women often do not come to the fore,” he said, adding that there are many anti-national activities currently underway in the border towns.Choudhary last week had held a press meet, announcing his foray into the political arena.
