From IIM grad to to engineers these debutante to make the difference in Lok Sabha elections

All of them have got a ticket each from the party, but they were working as workers for the party for some years, which drew the attention of the party high command and state leaders to consider them.Abhijit Kumar Jatav (58) who is a Congress candidate from Bharatpur, an SC seat, has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and also an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad.In 2013, he took voluntary retirement from Indian Revenue Services from the post of commissioner from Income-Tax department. “I am associated with social work through a foundation and was inclined towards politics. I am lucky that the party has given me this opportunity and I will work hard, if get elected for the betterment of my constituency,” he said while talking to TOI on Friday.On the other hand, 30-year-old Sanjay Kumar Jatav, the Congress candidate from Karauli Dholpur, has emerged as the youngest among the list of 19 candidates declared by the Congress party.He had done his B.Tech engineering in electronics and had also cleared banking officer’s exam. “I was not keen on joining as I was given Patna to serve in 2012. Since my father is an active worker in Congress party and is presently the secretary of Zila Congress committee in Dholpur, destiny took me towards politics. My area is infamous for bandits, mining mafia and lacks development. I will aim at bringing development and will raise valid issues in the Lok Sabha, if I get elected,” Jatav added.Apart from these engineers, Ratan Dewasi who has a diploma in Hotel Management and is actively into propagating the ideology of Congress party, has got a Lok Sabha ticket for the first time.“I have been MLA from Raniwara in 2008 and I lost the next election. The defeat took me closer to my people. During the floods in Jalore and Sirohi, I was personally working to ensure relief and rehabilitation packages to the families in 2017,” Dewasi added.
