The person who had forged the letter had put wrong email address as well, so we do not get to know of the forgery. We got to know about this couple of days back and lodged a FIR with the police,” said a senior IT official. On being asked if it is an inside job, the official added, “It is not possible because the format of the fake notice is not the one followed by us. Also, the official seal is missing so if it was an insider, he could have used the seal.”A case under IPC section 420 (cheating) has been registered and Heeralal, sub-inspector, Ashok Nagar police station said, “We are yet to speak to all the parties involved.
