ExArmy man shot dead by robbers in Hanumangarh

“We have seen the CCTV footage from the camera placed outside the victim’s house. Jaipur: An ex-serviceman was fatally shot in Hanumangarh while he was attempting to fight a couple of unidentified thieves who had broken into his house. The door was locked from outside and as soon as he opened it, in haste one of the thieves fired at the ex-army man killing him on the spot. We also placed blockades on the main roads amongst other places but till now have not identified the accused. We are doing everything possible to arrest the accused as soon as possible.

Jaipur: An ex-serviceman was fatally shot in Hanumangarh while he was attempting to fight a couple of unidentified thieves who had broken into his house. The ex-army man was shot with his own revolver, which the robbers got their hands on while ransacking the house.The victim has been identified as Narinder Yadav who had retired from the Indian Army.Pushpendra Jhajharia, SHO, Bhadra police station in Hanumangarh district where the case was registered said, “The victim actually surprised the thieves when they were looting the house. The door was locked from outside and as soon as he opened it, in haste one of the thieves fired at the ex-army man killing him on the spot. He took one bullet to his chest. The weapon used was his own licenced pistol.”Following this, the two accused immediately fled from the crime scene. At the time of the attack, Yadav was alone. “We have seen the CCTV footage from the camera placed outside the victim’s house. We also placed blockades on the main roads amongst other places but till now have not identified the accused. At this point it appears that two were involved in the crime. We are doing everything possible to arrest the accused as soon as possible. The house was completely ransacked with drawers and almirahs lying open,” added the police official, who added that the post-mortem of the deceased was conducted on Sunday.Police are yet to identify the items which are missing from the house and Jhajharia said, “We have asked the victim’s wife to prepare a list of everything that the robbers fled with. Once we get that list, we will have more leads to follow. The post-mortem of the victim was done on Sunday and his body will be handed over to the family.” A case has been registered under IPC sections 379 (theft) and 302 ( murder ).
