HC pulls up edu secy over female teacher’s transfer in Jhalawar

Jaipur: Hearing a contempt petition, a single bench of Rajasthan High Court has asked principal secretary (education) to either comply the orders of relieving a government teacher from a school situated at Jhalawar else appear before the court in person on September 27.Petitioner Deepika was working as Grade III teacher at a government primary school at Jaitha ka Fedi village in Dug area of Jhalawar in 2018. She got transferred from the school to government girls upper primary school, Ward number 4 of Mandawa in Jhunjhunu. However, she was not relieved from the school in Jhalawar where she was working, said Ram Pratap Saini, counsel for Deepika on Thursday.Saini said Deepika had approached the HC. The HC in its order on October 6, 2018 had directed the authorities to ensure the teacher gets relieved and could join the school where she was transferred. Till today, she is not relieved. We had approached the high court for intervention. The court has asked the education department to either comply with previous order of the HC in a week else principal secretary (education) to appear in person in the court with an affidavit explaining the reasons on non-compliance despite the lapse of almost five years, Saini added.The court of Justice Mahendra Kumar Goyal issued the order and the matter is listed for September 27.
