Manoj Sinha will be the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Girish Chandra Murmu accepts resignation

Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Manoj Sinha was appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. A release issued by the President`s Secretariat said that the resignation of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu has been accepted.

A release issued by the President`s Secretariat said that the resignation of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu has been accepted. Murmu will be the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, who has commanded the state for nearly nine months. Murmu has resigned on the first anniversary of the removal of Article 370.

The discussion of the resignation of the Lieutenant Governor suddenly started late Wednesday evening. He did official work all day. Presided over the meeting of the Administrative Council and in the evening, his resignation was revealed.

Sources say that the process of sending Murmu to the center was going on for the last several months. The matter of his removal was also viral on social media but then the Center defended him. Murmu, a 1985 batch IAS officer, was the Principal Secretary to the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi. Murmu will go to New Delhi on Thursday morning.
