The Hindu Young World quiz to be held today

The 18th edition of The Hindu Young World quiz, a popular event among schoolchildren, will be held on Saturday at the Ernakulam Town Hall. The team members should be from the same school / branch, and no cross-teams are allowed. Apart from prizes for winners and certificates for participants, there are prizes for members of the audience too for instant answers. But for the final six teams, a maximum of only two teams from the same school will be permitted. The event, powered by Eveready Industries India Ltd, is open to students in two categories — junior (Classes 4 to 6) and senior (Classes 7 to 9).

From a school, any number of teams can participate in the competition by registering online and paying a non-refundable registration fee of ?200 per team. The team members should be from the same school / branch, and no cross-teams are allowed. But for the final six teams, a maximum of only two teams from the same school will be permitted. Apart from prizes for winners and certificates for participants, there are prizes for members of the audience too for instant answers. Arrow Publications is the knowledge partner for the event. Sparky’s and Crossword are the gift sponsors and NJUZE the beverage partner. The chief guest, Mayor Soumini Jain, will distribute prizes at 4 p.m. Schools could register online at http://www.thehindu.com/ywquiz.
