HC issues notice on NAD area residents’ plea

The Kerala High Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Centre and Naval authorities on a public interest writ petition seeking to relax the restrictions on constructions and other activities in the area near the Naval Armament Depot, Aluva. The petitioner alleged that those who had managed to bribe the NAD official could easily construct even multi-storey building even on the areas very close to the depot. However, the poor people living far away from the NDA were restrained from even repairing or renovating their houses and getting public water connections.
