Mini MIFF at Children’s Park Theatre this weekend

A package of films featuring award-winning documentaries, short films and animation films from the 15th edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival -2018 (MIFF) will be screened at the Children’s Park Theatre on June 23 and 24. Organised by the Cochin Film Society in association with the Films Division under the Centre, the fest will be inaugurated by C.N. The festival will conclude with the screening of the Golden Conch winning Austrian documentary Brother Jakob, Are You Sleeping? It will be followed by the screening, at 6 p.m., of Santhal Family To Mill Re-call directed by R.V. The screenings will start on June 23 at 3 p.m. with My Secret Forest, followed by Insta Stories and Beloved Films Division at 4 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. respectively.

Mohanan, chairman of the Greater Cochin Development Authority on June 23 at 5 p.m. Chelavur Venu, vice-president of the Federation of Film Societies of India – Kerala Region, will deliver the K.R. Mohanan memorial lecture on the occasion. The screenings will start on June 23 at 3 p.m. with My Secret Forest, followed by Insta Stories and Beloved Films Division at 4 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. respectively. After the inaugural, The Basket (Tokri), directed by two-time national award winner and a native of Thripunithura, Suresh Eriyatt, will be screened. It will be followed by the screening, at 6 p.m., of Santhal Family To Mill Re-call directed by R.V. Ramani. As many as 10 films including My Turn (9.30 Am); The Grandfather (9.45 a.m.), I am Bonnie (10.15 a.m.), I am Jeeja (11 a.m.) and The Cinema Travellers (11.30 a.m.) will be screened on Sunday. The festival will conclude with the screening of the Golden Conch winning Austrian documentary Brother Jakob, Are You Sleeping? at 5 30 p.m.
