Police issue lookout notice for accused in Abhimanyu case

The special investigation team probing the Abhimanyu murder case has issued lookout notice for the accused in the case. Notices have been issued against 12th accused Mohammed Shahim, 31; 9th accused Shifas V N, 23; 11th accused Jisal Razak, 21, all natives of Palluruthy in West Kochi; 14th accused Faaiz P M, 20; 2nd accused Arif Bin Salim, 25, both natives of Aluva; 10th accused Sahal H, 21; 15th accused Thanseel and 6th accused Sanid, 26, all residents of Nettoor. Abhimanyu M, an undergraduate student at Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam, was stabbed to death during a clash on the college campus around 12.45 a.m. on July 2. The case was registered at the Ernakulam Central Police Station under sections 142, 148, 323, 324, 307, 302 read with 149 of IPC. The investigation team is in the final stages of preparing the chargesheet against the sixteen persons arrested in connection with the case.

The police are on the lookout for at least 13 persons who were directly involved in the murder. The investigation team is in the final stages of preparing the chargesheet against the sixteen persons arrested in connection with the case. With the witnesses identifying eight members of the killer squad, the police are gearing up to submit the first set of chargesheet to prevent them from applying for a statutory bail. Abhimanyu M, an undergraduate student at Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam, was stabbed to death during a clash on the college campus around 12.45 a.m. on July 2. Campus Front of India State secretary Muhammed Rifa; Saneesh, who had led the four-member gang from Palluruthy; and Muhammed JI, a student of Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, are the three prime accused in the case. As per the case, a 16-member gang, who were activists of the Campus Front of India, SDPI and Popular Front of India, unlawfully assembled with deadly weapons behind the college campus with the intention to do away with SFI leaders and attacked them with deadly weapons as conspired earlier. The case was registered at the Ernakulam Central Police Station under sections 142, 148, 323, 324, 307, 302 read with 149 of IPC.
