Earlier, he had announced that he will go to Sabarimala along with a group of young women, through a facebook post.According to the police, Sangeeth was attacked by a four-member gang at Karakkode Devi temple at around 11pm.Sangeeth was visiting the temple along with two of his friends.Sangeeth claimed the gang directly approached him and asked why he is supporting young women who want to visit Shabarimala.“After the question, they suddenly unleashed attack on me, using stones and pieces of logs. I have identified three of the attackers, who are familiar to me," he said.Locals rushed Sangeeth to a government hospital in Nilambur. Police have registered a case in this regard and have recorded Sangeeth's statement.The incident occurred seven days after an attack on the house of one Aparna Shivakami, a cancer survivor and teacher in Thenhippalam in the district who had also attended the press conference supporting three women Reshma Nishanth, Shanila Satheesh and VS Dhanya, who shared bitter experience they had been subjected to ever since they had expressed wish to visit Sabarimala.Sangeeth, who is staying in Guruvayur along with his family for the last four years, had received threats from various corners after he attended the press conference and a group of people had staged Namajapam protest in front of his house in Guruvayur.“It was after my FB post supporting women's entry in Sabarimala, that a group of women contacted me for support.
