KOCHI: Nearly ten days after he fell down while walking, famous sage Mookupodi Siddhar , 62, died on Sunday morning at 5.30am.After his fall, he had not taken any food, did no activity, and was not well.He was staying at Shadastri Ashram in Tiruvannamalai. He was the most famous person in the temple town of Tiruvannamalai as he renounced the normal life and devoted his life to prayer in seclusion.Famous sage Mookupodi Siddhar died on Sunday morning at 5.30am.Siddhar spent his life spending on streets, roads and in temple halls, mandapam, temples and mountain in Tiruvannamalai. While moving around all the places he used to wear a green shawl and frequently inhale Mooku Podi (Tobacco powder).He did not speak much and it was believed that if he spoke to or looked at anyone's face, that person must have got his blessings.Siddhar spent his life spending on streets, roads and temple hallsDevotees who came for worship always waited for long hours to hear a few words from him. Devotess from all over Tamil Nadu visited him only to get his blessings. Siddhar also made predictions on natural calamities such as Thane Cyclone and demonitisation. He rather murmured than said things.At the time of making the predictions, people didn't understand anything. But, it was only after after the calamities occurred that people came to know about his predictions.Amma Makkal Munnetra Kalazhagam leader TTV Dhinakaran used to visit him whenever he took any political decision.His devotees are shocked to hear the news that Mookupodi Siddhar is no more.
