Boys die after being hit by train while taking selfie

KOCHI: Two 15-year-old boys died after they were hit a train while taking a selfie at Perumbilly on Monday afternoon.Ernakulam-bound Kollam Memu train hit Akshay Santhosh, son of Santhosh in Kanjiramattom, and Nithin Babu, son of Babu of Perumbilly, around 3pm when they were taking selfie while standing on the railway track. The train dragged Babu 1.5km away from the accident spot.The bodies were identified after police attended a phone call on Nithin’s mobile. The Ernakulam South police arrested Biju (38), who is her neighbour, on charges of rape.The girl was first taken to Medical Trust Hospital but was later shifted to the general hospital in Ernakulam and Ernakulam Medical Centre. Senthilkumar, who was arrested with the help of Cyber Cell, is wanted in several criminal cases. Biju is in judicial remand.A Tamil Nadu native accused of rioting and assaulting police officials on duty on hartal day in Perumbavoor has been arrested.

The bodies are kept in general hospital in Ernakulam A minor girl survivor of a sexual abuse case, who was undergoing treatment following a suicide attempt, succumbed to her burns at the medical college in Kottayam on Monday.The 15-year-old girl attempted suicide on January 8 by setting her ablaze. The Ernakulam South police arrested Biju (38), who is her neighbour, on charges of rape.The girl was first taken to Medical Trust Hospital but was later shifted to the general hospital in Ernakulam and Ernakulam Medical Centre. Biju is in judicial remand.A Tamil Nadu native accused of rioting and assaulting police officials on duty on hartal day in Perumbavoor has been arrested. Senthilkumar, who was arrested with the help of Cyber Cell, is wanted in several criminal cases. Senthilkumar has been remanded in 14-day judicial custody.He was arrested by a police team headed by inspector Biju Poulose.Thadiyittaparambu police arrested three youngsters for stealing batteries worth Rs 90,000 from a workshop in Vazhakkulam on Monday. The men have been identified as Riyaz, Rafeek and Zakeer.
