Maharaja’s Express to halt at Ernakulam

IRCTC officials said that Maharaja’s Express would reach Ernakulam South on June 29. Maharaja’s Express, the luxurious train operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), will visit Ernakulam soon. The 23-coach luxury train will reach Ernakulam South railway station as part of the first leg of its ‘Southern Sojourn’ beginning from Mumbai on June 24. For the first time, part journey has been introduced in the monsoon special itinerary of Maharaja’s Express. The ‘Southern Sojourn’ will cover Mumbai, Goa, Hampi, Mysore, Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram.

IRCTC officials said that Maharaja’s Express would reach Ernakulam South on June 29. The train will halt at the station overnight and leave for Alappuzha on June 30. The ‘Southern Sojourn’ will cover Mumbai, Goa, Hampi, Mysore, Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram. The second leg of the journey, ‘Southern Jewels – Monsoon Special’, will start from Thiruvananthapuram on July 1 and terminate at Mumbai covering Chettinad, Mahabalipuram, Mysore, Hampi and Goa. Each journey will be of eight days/seven nights duration. An official release said the train, with a capacity of 88 guests, offered state-of-the-art features that included spacious cabin sizes, bars-cum-lounges, two restaurants, on-board water filtration plant and trained on-board team to cater to global expectations. For the first time, part journey has been introduced in the monsoon special itinerary of Maharaja’s Express. Passengers are allowed to avail of part of the total journey on a fixed price of $500/ ?33,250 daily for a person on twin sharing basis. For single occupancy, the charge will be $800/?53,200. The prices are exclusive of taxes and limited to a maximum of two nights and three days.
