Traffic modifications at Kakkanad junction

Vehicular traffic to the other three sides will be regulated by the traffic signal. The road from the collectorate joining the Seaport-Airport road will also be designated for one-way traffic. Vehicles bound for Ernakulam from the Infopark side will have to cross the signal junction. The modifications were presented by RTO Reji P. Varghese at a meeting convened by District Collector K. Mohammed Y. Safirulla. The modifications, to be enforced on an experimental basis for a fortnight, will include a three-way signalling system at the junction in front of the Media Academy.

As per this, vehicles from the Vazhakkala side will have to take a free left at the signal junction and those bound for Infopark and Pallikkara will have to take the road in front of the district panchayat office -- which will now be a one-way route -- to reach Kakkanad junction for onward journey.
