Football season is soon to take over football fanatics, but meanwhile young footballers from the city are winning victory over local matches. One such was a football tournament organised by Soccer Club in Kolhapur wherein city-based Rankala Tower won the match. The event was organised at Kharade College ground where both the teams gave tough competition to each other. There were around 32 teams that participated in the game but only the above team could qualify for the finals. Both the teams had tie and a game of penalty decided the winner and Rankala team scored a goal and won. Akash Varambe, Nikhil Powar, Ashish Keskar etc. were some of the outstanding players in the team. The game was inaugurated by Niwas Jadhav and Ajit Kharade . The spectators were also seen cheering the players during the game.
