Aurangabad: The top-brass of South Central Railway (SCR) has advised divisional authorities to focus on improving freight loading while giving top priority to safety in all train operations.In a review meeting held on Monday, SCR general manager Vinod Kumar Yadav instructed the officials to keep continuous focus on vulnerable areas that need more attention.“The general manager advised the officials to focus on improvement of freight loading and instructed to make better action plans to meet the demands in supply of the wagons for loading cement, limestone, coal, among other items, ” an official release said.The SCR, which handles around 755 passenger carrying trains and 650 freight trains on an average every day, is critical to rail operations for Indian Railways as a whole as its network is considered as the virtual gateway to the South of India from all other directions.The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six divisions — Nanded, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal and Guntur — attended the meeting through video conferencing.Yadav also asked the officials to counsel the supervisors and staff for not adopting shortcut methods while attending to safety-related works and failures.
