KOLHAPUR: A WhatsApp group admin attacked a 27-year-old member for raising questions over his removal from the group. A case has been registered against the man with Kurundwad police station.The complainant, identified as Sunil Atmaram Patil , 27-year-old resident of Sainik Takali village, Shirol taluka, had lodged a complaint in this regard. According to the police, Patil was added to a WhatsApp group two weeks ago by a friend. The group has some of Patil's friends and other youths from the same village. Immediately after Patil was added, another admin who has personal rivalry with Patil, objected to his presence in the group.This admin would allegedly question Patil's presence in the group and finally removed him two days ago. After he was removed, Patil went to question the admin about the reason for his ouster from the group. Both had a heated argument, the police said.According to the police, on Sunday morning, when Patil was on his way to his workplace, the admin followed him. When Patil reached the workplace and was busy opening gates, the admin allegedly hit Patil on his head with a stick and injured him before running away from the spot, said an officer from Kurundwad police station. Patil was later admitted to a private hospital for treatment."We have booked the suspect under IPC section 324, 504 and 507," he said.
